About Ironton, MO - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The small City of Ironton serves as the county seat of Iron County, and it is home to roughly 1,500 people. Ironton is conveniently located 12 miles to the south of Belgrade, and it is 89 miles south of St. Louis. This community was named for the iron ore deposits found in the vicinity, and it is presently served by Arcadia Valley School District. Local Arcadia Valley High School is the small, rural school located in the city, and Ironton is also home to a branch of the local Ozark Regional Library.

There are several places to visit in Ironton despite the city’s small size. Visitors searching for a unique hiking experience may like to check out the Millstream Gardens Conservation Area, and Shepherd Mountain Lake Park is also open during the warmer months. The Arcadia Valley Soap Company offers beautiful handmade soaps that are all made in the historic shop found right on Main Street. Ironton also hosts several events throughout the year, including the Ironton Family Fun Day, the Arcadia Valley BBQ Battle, and the Arcadia Valley Mountain Music Festival.

In terms of the weather, Ironton residents need to be prepared for conditions that vary seasonally. Winters here are cold, and average daily highs reach the low or middle 40s during the height of the season. About 11-12 inches of total snow falls each year, and to when coupled with the chance for freezing temperatures, conditions can become dangerous both indoors and outdoors. Residents rely on energy efficient heat pumps or furnace systems for both safety and comfort.

During the summer, locals can expect to battle high temperatures and humidity. While thermostats may read in the 90s, muggy air can make it feel even warmer. Central air conditioning is pivotal for comfort during the season, cooling off indoor temperatures and reducing humidity levels from circulating air.
