The small City of Ironton serves as the county seat of Iron County, and it is home to roughly 1,500 people. Ironton is conveniently located 12 miles to the south of Belgrade, and it is 89 miles south of St. Louis. This community was named for the iron ore deposits found in the vicinity, and it is presently served by Arcadia Valley School District. Local Arcadia Valley High School is the small, rural school located in the city, and Ironton is also home to a branch of the local Ozark Regional Library.
