About Fredericktown, MO - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Fredericktown, Missouri serves as the county seat of Madison County, and this city was home to roughly 4,000 people as of 2010. Located in the outer boundary of the St. Francois Mountains, Fredericktown is surrounded by the Mark Twain National Forest on three sides. The history of Fredericktown dates back to 1819, and in the early days, lead mining was the major draw to the area. In fact, the city is unique in the U.S. due to the variety of metals and minerals that have been found nearby, including lead, copper, silver, iron, cobalt, and many others.

While Fredericktown is primarily a residential community now, there are several things to see and do here. Outdoor recreation and hiking is plentiful at Castor River Shut-Ins and the Silver Mines Recreation Area. There are several delicious restaurants in Fredericktown, such as The Depot Café, Madison & Company Café, and Olympic Steakhouse, and Southern Oaks Country Club provides a full service golf facility. Specialty shops in the community also include The Mustard Seed Mercantile, Country Mart Deli, and Tom’s Shoes and Western Wear.

Located in the center of the country, Fredericktown is found in a transitional zone between humid continental and humid subtropical climates. Residents can expect to experience exceptional humidity, especially during the late summer months. Average daily high temperatures in August reach 89 degrees Fahrenheit, but there are nearly 40 days each year where temperatures surpass 90 degrees. Central air conditioning is a necessity to make it through this difficult time of the year.

Winter weather in the area is cold, and January is the year’s coldest month. Average daily highs reach about 42 degrees, but there are roughly 16 days per year where high temperatures stay below freezing. With nearly a foot of total snowfall accumulation each year, it is important that residents are prepared to spend days indoors with their gas or electric furnace running.
