About Bismarck, MO - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

The small city of Bismarck, Missouri is found in St. Francois County. As of 2010, only about 1,500 people called the community home. Much of the city’s early growth can be attributed to farming interest, especially since the city was conveniently located near the main line of railroad. Bismarck was platted in 1868 and named for Prince Otto Eduard Leopold von Bismarck of Germany in the hopes of attracting German immigrants to the area.

Bismarck is a small community, so there aren’t any major attractions located here. Hiking and other outdoor activities can be enjoyed at the Bismarck Conservation Area. Popular restaurants in the community include Carla’s Café and Lady Queene Restaurant, and prime shopping destinations like Radford’s Whisper of Hope, Dollar General, Stems Floral & Gifts, and Mike’s Market also call the city home.

Varied and seasonal weather conditions are a part of life in Bismarck. Summers are hot and very humid, especially toward the end of the season. August tends to be the hottest month with average daily high temperatures at about 89 degrees. However, there are many days when thermostats jump into the 90s or even triple digits, and with oppressive humidity, outdoor conditions could become dangerous. The right central air conditioner – specifically one with a high SEER rating – is crucial during this time.

Winter weather in Bismarck is substantially different from summertime conditions. While average daily high temperatures may reach into the 40s, overnight lows can be frigid. Snowfall totals only reach about 11 inches throughout the season, but rain and icing are also possibilities. In cases of severe cold, pipes and other home plumbing systems could experience freeze-related damage. Fortunately, when Bismarck residents invest in the right furnace or heat pump system, they minimize their risk of damage and discomfort, especially when they schedule regular service and maintenance.
